Paul Trillo
Director - Trillo Films
Paul Trillo is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, and director who challenges both his own curiosity and illusion with his experimental, conceptual, and highly technical films. His diverse body of work spans various genres and formats, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in filmmaking. Whether he’s creating practical effects by hand, building the first mobile bullet time rig with phones, choreographing aerial smoke shows using drones, or creating fully AI-animated commercials, Paul’s work is always original, innovative, and technically advanced. Recently, Trillo has explored the future of AI filmmaking, focusing on integrating new tools with traditional craft. His viral visual effects experiments have not only changed the way these tools are perceived but are also intended to inspire others to explore the possibilities of this emerging technology. His first Gen-2 film "Thank You For Not Answering" has been featured in The New Yorker, and his film "Absolve", shot on location at the Louvre, developed innovative AI visual effects.
An acclaimed speaker and judge, Paul has contributed to diverse platforms such as the first and second year of the Runway AI Film Festival, as well as SXSW, NAB, NVIDIA GTC, TED, and Infinity Fest. His commercial work includes dynamic campaigns for major brands like IBM, Microsoft, F-150, and T-Mobile, including a notable spot for Carvana in the 2022 Super Bowl. As an influencer in the filmmaking community, Paul continues to inspire with his dedication to exploring new forms of visual storytelling and his commitment to expanding the horizons of the film and technology intersection.
